I started as a Science (6-12) instructional designer for the Curriculum Team at a virtual high school. When the small IT crew was bottlenecked by Fall enrollments, I took the initiative to learn basic HTML for resolving LMS content errors in my IT tickets; I found I enjoyed LMS work! By 6 months, I could configure users/courses in both in-house and D2L LMSs, earning dual roles as Team LMS admin and Science ID. In 2012, DeVry Inc. rewarded my work with the Professional Recognition of Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence (PRIDE) Award.
Next, I achieved several career firsts: my first LMS consultant role for a private preK, my first WFH gig creating an SMB's database SOPs, and my first Storyline builds.
I then took an ID-PM role for end-to-end development of real estate licensure/CE courses. As part of a content update initiative, I proposed replacing outdated content with Storyline modules. I demoed my builds for leadership, resulting in instant adoption.
